Meet Dr. Brennan Gibbs
I started my journey to becoming a chiropractor in high school after injuring my knee playing hockey. I had to go to physical therapy for a couple months afterward and loved the one-on-one rehab sessions with the physical therapist. This experience along with taking a human anatomy class around the same time and a desire to help and serve others sent me on the path to finding a career in the healthcare field. After switching my mind a few times about the exact career I wanted to pursue, I was introduced to chiropractic and was immediately hooked.
Education
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan before heading to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Most of my focus during school was toward sports and rehab type of chiropractic care, engaging in seminars and on-campus clubs training in those specialties. However, after having two children and learning more about family and nervous system-focused chiropractic, I have a new-found passion for helping people of all ages and backgrounds find hope and healing through neurologically-focused chiropractic care, not just the athletes and weekend warriors.
The techniques I am trained in and use most often are Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson, Activator, and Webster. I will soon be trained in pediatric Neuro-Tonal technique through the Pediatric Experience training community as well.
The Practice Today
I am blessed and honored to be a part of the practice my wife Mariah started where we have created a space for families to receive excellent, nervous system centered chiropractic care. It is a privilege to serve our patients through their healing journey and see the miracles happen for them that are truly life-changing. We hope everyone who comes through our doors feels our team’s warm welcome and is cared for like family each time.
Outside the Practice
When I am not at Genesis I like to spend time with Mariah and our two children going on walks around the neighborhood, bike rides through town, or just enjoying each other’s company at home. I also enjoy watching sports rooting on mostly the Detroit sports teams and the University of Michigan, but I like the Hawkeyes too. We are members of Veritas Church in Cedar Rapids and are active in growing our personal relationship with Jesus as well as making connections inside and outside the church community. In addition to the goals I have as a chiropractor, I want to develop a mentorship community that helps men young and old to grow and become good and godly husbands and fathers.
